The Chairman of the Georgian Bar Association, Irakli Khandashvili, met with David Simonia, Head of the Legal Aid Service. The meeting took place at the offices of the Bar Association. During the meeting, the parties discussed the specifics of the work of the Bar Association and the Legal Aid Service, ongoing projects, and opportunities for deepening future cooperation. The Georgian Bar Association has elected a new Chairperson. Irakli Kandashvili won the second round of the elections, receiving 1,473 votes, while the second candidate, Irakli Chomakhashvili, was supported by 1,366 members. A total of 2,855 lawyers participated in the second round of voting. As a result of the first round of elections, the Executive Council, as well as the Ethics and Audit Commissions, were formed.
