The Georgian Bar Association was honored to host an introductory visit by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Georgia, H.E. Mr. Robert Gerschner. During the meeting, the parties discussed the team’s current and upcoming activities, including participation in international and local championships. Among these is the Association team’s participation in the World Football Cup for Lawyers (Mundiavocat), which will be held on May 9–17 in Benidorm, Spain. It is worth noting that last year the Georgian Bar Association team won third place in this championship.

The Chairman of the Georgian Bar Association, Irakli Kandashvili, together with representatives of the Association’s administration, met with representatives of the UN Women programme. During the meeting, the Chairman provided the guests with a detailed overview of the Association’s activities, its institutional role, current priorities, and future plans aimed at strengthening professional standards and ensuring the protection of attorneys’ rights.

The Chairman of the Georgian Bar Association, Irakli Kandashvili, met with Archil Gorduladze, Chair of the Parliament’s Legal Issues Committee. During the meeting, the parties discussed current legislative matters on the agenda. In particular, Irakli Kandashvili presented to the Committee Chair the position of the Executive Council of the Georgian Bar Association, as well as the risks identified by the Association, regarding the draft Law of Georgia “On Legal Aid.”

Within the framework of the meeting, the Minister congratulated Irakli Kandashvili on his election as Chairman of the Georgian Bar Association and noted the high level of trust expressed toward him by Georgian lawyers.
