Irakli Kandashvili, Chairman of the Georgian Bar Association, met with Anna Rich, Head of the Representation of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR Georgia) in Georgia, and Tornike Tsagareishvili, Legal Adviser.

During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for cooperation between the Georgian Bar Association and UNHCR, as well as key areas for future partnership. Particular attention was paid to supporting the continuing legal education of lawyers, including the organization of training sessions and workshops on migration law and refugee protection in Tbilisi and the regions of Georgia.

The Head of the UNHCR Representation expressed her readiness to support and cooperate in these areas.

“One of our key priorities is to strengthen cooperation with international organizations, which enables us to share international best practices, introduce modern approaches to professional education, and further enhance lawyers’ professional capacities. Our goal is to translate this cooperation into concrete initiatives and educational programmes accessible to lawyers working both in Tbilisi and in the regions of Georgia,” said Irakli Kandashvili.
